Mikayla was born in Hawaii and raised all over the USA in a military family. She was first introduced to theatre in middle school doing Destination Imagination: Improv. In high school, she was in the Kellam Drama Club all four years and became a member of the Virginia Thespian Honor Society.
Following High School, she was accepted to Shenandoah University for a degree in Exercise Science, however after working in the scene shop at Shenandoah Conservatory, Mikayla changed majors after her freshman year to Theatre Design and Production with an emphasis in Stage Management. Mikayla graduated December 2023 Magna Cum Laude.
Mikayla is excited to get her break stage managing in DC with INseries Opera on their production of Ethiopia.
This summer she will also be stage managing with Shakespeare Opera Theatre on their production of Romeo and Juliet.
January-May '24 Mikayla participated in the Disney College Program working in Quick Service Food in The Magic Kingdom as the Magic Kingdom Firework Dessert Party.
Mikayla was also a Theater Teacher at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD from August '24 - April '25 She was also the Troupe Leader for the school's Thespian Honor Society, directing the spring show A Midsummer Night's Dream
Summer 2023, Mikayla worked at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts as a Stage Management and Bunk Counselor. Over the period of 13 weeks, she was able to stage manage 10 shows, and worked many other events including an orchestral performance that featured The New York Pops.
Outside of theatre, Mikayla has also worked at 3 daycare facilities with different layouts. She loves taking care of kids and woking in those environments. These skills in childcare along with her stage management experience, Mikayla has an interest to be a child guardian in performances and children's theatre.
Mikayla played soccer for 16 years, having played at the travel level throughout middle and high school and playing at Shenandoah University on the women's soccer team.
Along with soccer, Mikayla also has other hobbies in reading, running, and art. She is currently training to run the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2026 with her bestie!
